By downloading, installing, or using the Abonten app or website ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. These Terms apply to all users including event hosts and attendees.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use Abonten. By using the Service, you represent that you meet this requirement and have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms.
3. Your Account
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately at hello@abontenapp.com if you suspect unauthorized access.
You may not create accounts using automated means, create accounts on behalf of others without authorization, or use another user's account.

4. Events and Content
Event hosts are responsible for the accuracy and legality of their event listings, including venue permissions, safety compliance, and any required permits.
You own your content. By posting content (event descriptions, cover images, profile information), you grant Abonten a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to display and distribute that content within the Service.

- False, misleading, or fraudulent
- Infringing on third-party intellectual property rights

- Sexually explicit or involving minors
- In violation of any applicable law
5. Private Events and Payments
Hosts who create private events pay a one-time activation fee of $19.99 USD processed via Stripe. This fee covers the private RSVP and QR check-in infrastructure.
Refund policy: The $19.99 activation fee is non-refundable once payment is processed and the invite link has been generated. If you experience a technical error during payment, contact us at hello@abontenapp.com within 7 days for review.
Abonten does not collect or process ticket sales for events. External ticket links are the responsibility of the event host and their chosen ticketing platform.

6. Prohibited Conduct
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
- Scrape, crawl, or data-mine the Service without written permission
- Attempt to reverse-engineer or tamper with the app or API
- Circumvent security or authentication measures
- Post spam, phishing links, or malware
- Impersonate any person or entity
- Interfere with the proper functioning of the Service
7. Intellectual Property
The Abonten name, logo, wordmark, and all original Service content are owned by Akwaaba LLC and protected by copyright and trademark law. You may not use our branding without written permission.
8. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Akwaaba LLC shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of or inability to use the Service. Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed $50 USD.
10. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Akwaaba LLC, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, or expenses (including reasonable attorney fees) arising from your use of the Service, your content, or your violation of these Terms.
11. Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time for violation of these Terms or for any other reason at our sole discretion, with or without notice. You may delete your account at any time by contacting us at hello@abontenapp.com.
12. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via the app or email. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
13. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of New Jersey.
